Giborei Koach Bulletin Board

Help the children relate to the Giborei Koach, the farmers that keep Shemitta, with this interactive bulletin board. The bulletin board is centered on a Midrash that explains that unlike most Mitzvos that are momentary, the Mitzva of Shemitta remains an entire year. The farmers that are able to watch their fields and vineyards lie fallow for so long are called Giborei Koach-“Heroes of Strength”. The students build on this concept by choosing an area from their lives where they show restraint for a prolonged period of time and are rewarded for doing so. By sharing and displaying the students’ ideas, the students are able to relate and appreciate the heroism of the Shomrei Shvi’is.
