Kindergarten 1st grade transitioning

There is usually a big jump from Kindergarten to 1st grade, for example: from circle time, centers and tables to desks from lots of hands on projects and varied activities to more book and worksheet work. Should we have the last few months of kindergarten be more like 1st grade or have the first few months of 1st grade more like Kindergarten?

Agreed.
Though you can subtley up the expectations in terms of taking responsibility for themselves, expect them to attend for longer periods of time etc. towards the end of kindergarten, the first grade teachers must understand that there is a transition period needed. Remember, these kids are also coming back after 2 months out of school. If you're doing what's age appropriate for kindergarteners, don't put the pressure on to be what's not yet their level developmentally.
