A teacher recently told me that a large percentage of the girls in her 7th grade class read poorly.  They decode letters individualy, but do not read words fluently and smoothly.  This makes it difficult for these students to read in front of the class and it is difficult for other students to listen to.  Does anybody have any ideas about how to improve kriah in the older grades in a way that isn't demeaning to the girls?

We have a wonderful program in our school that we started where we pair up seventh and first graders. The girls are preped on the activity that they will be doing with their partners, and it forces them to focus on the details of proper reading without embarresing them . I will be happy to give you all details. clevitansky@torahprep.com
