Does anyone have any good ideas regarding Shabbos party in a single-gender classroom? How does one incorporate "Shabbos Ema" or Shabbos Abba" with a class of all boys or girls? Any responses would be helpful.

Wow, sounds like a great idea! The Walder Education Pavilion of Torah Umesorah is currently working on a multilingual feelings program. You can contact them at teacherscenter@waldereducation.org to see what they have available or perhaps they can recommend some great resources.
Hatzlacha!

I work in Early Childhood, and have a little boy whos mother speaks hebrew and father speaks english.  I\'d like to make a multi-lingual feelings chart including english, spanish, and hebrew versions of words like happy, sad, angry, etc. but I\'m having trouble finding phonetic spellings of these words online.  I\'ve also sent an email out to mom to help, but she works nights and takes a bit to get back to me on these things.  Is there a website or something out there that might include these words written out in the english alphabet as well as in Hebrew?

It depends what unit we're learning then, when we did shapes we picked up first the shape of the week, same was with colors.  otherwise we have a cleanup song "Clean up clean up everybody everywhere, clean up clean up everybody do your share, then to the same tune i'll sing Thank you.. and thank you .... thank you .... and thank you..... i found the kids were so excited to hear their name sang about that it really got everyone moving.  Also my policy is "eveyone played, everyone helps"

In my opinion, songs are not the best way to learn and review shorashim.  Words have to be read.  There are too many phonetically similar words (e.g. atah with an alef and with an ayin) that are mixed up if the spellings are not mastered.  Also, 64 words in a year is a nice start, but much more can be done.  The second grade in the Scranton Hebrew Day School masters over 300 words!  Please see my video (Laying the Foundation for Learning Chumash Independantly) in the video section of chinuch.org to see how we do this.

I've never heard of a specific song reviewing Shorashim, but what I do with my 3rd grade class is I choose 8 of the most popular shorashim for each Perek and throughout the Perek we keep reviewing those Shorashim. By the end of the year they now 64 shorashim \- their meanings and identifying them in words perfectly due to constant practice and isolating 8 per Perek.
One of the ways of learning these 8 is that I take any song that I know and sing the 8 shorashim to that tune. Each song contains the 8 shorashim. First singing the shoresh, then its meaning and then its spelling, then the next shoresh, it's meaning... And that becomes the Perek's Shoresh song.
