An activity in which learning details about Yom Kippur and using math skills coincide! Use your math skills to figure out the following math riddles: Why Is Yom Kippur on the 10th of Tishrei? How Many Korbanot Did The Kohen Gadol Bring? What is the ProperTime for Lighting Candles? What is the Chance of the Goral in the Right Hand? Pesukim from the Torah and Rashi are quoted to assist in figuring out the presented riddles. Each riddle presents a different math skill, including counting, telling time, and probabilities. Yom Kippur Math Riddles can be enjoyed in a group setting, either in the classroom with a teacher, or sent home with students to be worked on together with their families! What to download: • Download the print-ready PDF file (includes lesson plan/instructions). • OPTIONAL: Download the editable Word file (does not include lesson plan).
