To give students a clear picture of where their Chumash, Parsha and Navi lessons fit in the scope of history, in addition to the stories of Chanukah and Purim, I hang a "timeline" that looks like puzzle pieces connected in a long line, over the blackboard. Use a yardstick or ruler to point to the "piece" you are currently teaching.
