A unit which includes a variety of lessons which teach children about Brachos. Teaching the children about each food item and the process that it goes through until is grown or produced, gives them a better understanding of which Brachah is made on it and why. This unit includes hands on activities, photos, books, and a culminating art activity. Although the individual cooking/baking activities will vary from classroom to classroom, the main objective is to give the students real, hands-on opportunities to see how the food we eat is derived. Students will see first-hand that some foods grow and some foods need to be processed; some come from the earth while others come from animals. (See files NL_00002-NL_00008 for complete components.)
