This thorough lesson gives the students background and practical
ideas on the topic of Galus. It focuses, in particular, on some
of the reasons why we are in Galus and how one can attain
closeness to Hashem even when placed in difficult situations. The
lesson helps the students come to the understanding that it is
only through closeness to Hashem that we can survive hardships.
There is an accompanying bulletin board which depicts the
concepts discussed by showing the four leshonos of the Bris Bain
Habesorim and their corresponding Galuyos. On a dark background,
the words Ki Eisheiv Bachoshech Hashem Ohr Li appear above a
window through which light is streaming into the room. This unit
can be taught at any point in the year but is particularly
appropriate during Chanukah or before Asara B’Teves. What
