Encourage positive association of fire by having students recognize the various times and ways that fire is used in Yiddishkeit. The teacher prompts a discussion in which the students brainstorm usages that they can remember. Large, clear drawings help the students visualize and connect to the scenarios discussed. This packet contains illustrations of the following scenes: Bedikas Chametz, Biur Chametz, Chanukah, Lag B’Omer, cooking for Shabbos and Yom Tov, Shabbos and Yom Tov Candles, Havdala, Chasuna, and Yahrtzeit. In addition to full page size, the images are provided both as two images per page and four images per page. The smaller images can serve as coloring books for the students to take home and share with their families. What to download • Download the print-ready PDF file (includes lesson plan/instructions).
