Here is a quick summary of the Shailos which were presented
during the session: 1) The goal of some seminaries seems to
be to get the girls to be “Yod’ei Sefer,” and
in turn the high schools try to prepare their girls for that. Are
we really losing focus on the tachlis of Chinuch
HaBanos? 2) In an out of town community how do we
get our daughters involved in the general community and still
retain the torah’dike values that are so important to
Yiddishkeit? How do we express to them that they are in no way
superior to all other Yidden even if they are more
“frum”? 3) What criteria should a
high school use to admit its students? What if the school gets
too large? 4) In a modern high school where the
girls are more interested in their professional careers than in
their ruchniyos, and they are all shomer torah umitzvos, what
values should be stressed? 5) What is the
rationale for a wife supporting her kollel learning husband. Is
that not the opposite of what should occur in a marriage?
