Learn tools and techniques for laying the groundwork for a
lifetime of successful Gemara learning! In this presentation,
Rabbi Aaron Spivak addresses the challenges faced by those new to
learning Gemara and provides concrete tools for overcoming them.
The difficulties discussed in this presentation include the fact
that; the Gemara does not have Nekudos, it is written in an
unfamiliar language, it is formatted as endless homogenous pages,
it requires a thinking process which is unfamiliar to the
students and finally, students are often unclear about what is
being accomplished by the Shakla V’tariya. After providing
practical tools for dealing each of the above-mentioned
obstacles, Rabbi Spivak makes a great presentation exceptional by
demonstrating just how to implement the techniques that he
discussed. This is accomplished by presenting actual pieces of
Gemara and “teaching” them to the audience as he
would to his own Talmidim. The video runs for a little over an
hour and is recommended for those inexperienced in teaching
Haschalas Gemara and for veteran Mechanchim alike! |
