Beyond Discipline 101: Rabbi Yaakov Oppen '08

The classroom of today poses far greater challenges in terms of student behavior and attitude towards authority than the classroom enviroment of our school days. The wowrkshop will explore some of the reasons why traditional approaches do not always work and present some practcal ideas that teachers can use to have greater successes in implementing and maintaining classroom discipline. SOme of the topics to be discussed are:

• "Setting the table"- Creating an enviroment that is conducive to success.
• Common misteps and how to avoid them.
• Understanding and coping with stress.
• Getting the support of your administration and parents.
