Parent training is a highly effective tool for preventing an treating behavioral and social problems of young children. This presentation introduces Dr. Spiegel's proposals that Yeshiva Day Shools incorporate parent training as and integral part of preschool aducation. Dr. Spiegel will begin with explaining why a parent teacher training program is needed and what the training should encompass. She will then discuss the details of implementing the training program, how to garner parent support and participation and maximize the program's effectiveness. The presentation will end with a give and take discussion of the pros and cons of making the training obligatory for parents of preschool-age children.
