Is this a computer-based resource you are looking for? Title: Re: User Friendly Resources Post by: EstherHirsch on January 08, 2008, 05:30:28 AM widget is a computer programme that translates the written word into signs and symbols. This we found to be ideal for those students who are unable to read. There are many english stories written in widget on the net. As I was unable to find any Jewish themes I am writing some stories in Widget. If anyone is interested I Have written Yosef Mokir Shabbos and the story of Hillel on the roof. Hatzlocho

Title: Re: User Friendly Resources Post by: EstherHirsch on October 08, 2008, 04:57:35 AM The program is called Communicate in Print or Boardmaker. I can only send you these stories if you have the programme on your computer.
We have made a series of cards to use with some of our students too. e.g. drink, lunch, quiet etc, We have found this extremely helpful. Here in U.K it is known as Pecs cards. The Torah Umesorah Educational Resource Center in Brooklyn uses it and they may be able to help you find the material you are looking for.
