Title: Discipline Post by: Badler on August 13, 2007, 06:50:54 AM I teach Pre-Nursery 3 yr olds. Any tips on beating the Spring Fever and lack of discipline that goes with it?? After all, I have to prepare them for graduation, for next year, etc..

That is to say incorporate exercise into your routine. End with a calming exercise. This is most effective if done right before teaching. Unfortunately exercise is sorely lacking from our routine insite of the fact that Maimonides states that 20 minutes a day is necessary for good health (which leads to optimal cognitive function including such things as attention) CM Title: Re: Discipline Post by: olgaandjesse on June 14, 2009, 08:22:36 AM I couldn't agree more!! I teach two's and threes in a large school and I find that in general, at this age, not only is exercise a good activity because it releases energy, but it helps to stimulate and refocus the brain! I also do SEIT and an O.T. advised me that in order to help a child who is hyper to focus, I should begin my session with an activity that requires movement.
